Birth Certificate Apostille

It is normal for a birth certificate to be issued with an apostille certificate in order for it to be acceptable in many overseas countries. The apostille may be requested on your birth certificate as identification, when seeking employment, for couples marrying overseas, or when registering a UK birth in another country.

You must provide one of the colour copies from a registry office or the general registrar’s office. We cannot legalise a photocopy even if you have it certified by a solicitor.

To order your apostille simply send us your document and we will issue the apostille in 3-4 working days. We can process either the long or short version of your birth certificate.

We typically see more long versions processed with the apostille certificate as this details the parents names. You may want to check what is required in the country you are dealing with.
